Photo of the Day for January 03, 2024 – Torotot

A torotot is an instrument designed to produce sound when air is blown through it. Unlike other celebratory items that fade away after New Year’s, the torotot, also known as the Child Trumpet, remains a consistent presence. While it functions as a festive noisemaker for parties, its usage in the Philippines becomes particularly prominent in the lead-up to the New Year. On the eve of New Year’s, Filipinos ensure to blow the torotot, creating a cacophony of noise believed to drive away evil spirits. Instead of resorting to fireworks, many opt for noise-making tools like torotots, pots, and cans, creating a loud symphony to usher in luck for the entire year. The torotot comes in various colors, offering a range of options for enthusiasts.

The torotot not sold will go to storange till next year.
