Block ice is needed in large quantities in the Philippine markets for cooling.

That’s why there are traders who offer this product there, mostly for the market stall owners and traders of fish and seafood, meat and poultry. The ice is sold in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or 1/1 blocks and is also crushed with an ice pick if necessary. Workers carry it by the sack to the market stalls and for larger quantities it is also transported in wheelbarrows.
